Mohammad Rizwan, the Pakistan wicketkeeper batter is likely to miss rest of the two matches of the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand. He is also likely to miss the Ireland and England T20I series to keep himself completely fresh and fit for the T20 World Cup.

Rizwan experienced pain in his right hamstring while batting in the third T20I against New Zealand and retired after playing just 21 balls. He did not take any further part in that game and also had his scans. PCB has now sent his scan results to UK for further consultations.

Rizwan is an important player for Pakistan and the consistency he brings to the table is critical for Pakistan in T20 World Cup. However, he was demoted to number 3 for the New Zealand series with Babar Azam coming back at the top of the order partnering Saim Ayub.

In place of Rizwan, Usman Khan is likely to don the wicketkeeping role and Rizwan might have to rest for two to four weeks according to some reports.

The series is levelled at 1-1 and with action shifting to Lahore for the final two T20Is. Babar Azam is back as a captain in change of guard in Pakistan cricket after PSL, and he would be hoping that his good friend Mohammad Rizwan gets completely fit before the all-important T20 World Cup.
