SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) will host two-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday, May 04.

The Aiden Markram-led unit broke their three-match losing streak in their previous outing (against DC), and they will look to build on it against a struggling KKR unit, which they defeated by 23 runs earlier in the season.

The Knight Riders, meanwhile, have already lost 6 games, and they are in desperate need of a turnaround as the tournament approaches its business end.

KKR have a 15-9 lead over SRH in head-to-head encounters, but that means precious little given their struggles with both bat and ball.

SRH too have blown more cold than hot this season despite having a very talented squad, and, so they will be wary of being caught napping by a KKR unit that has a knack of staging upsets when one expects the least from them.

Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad: Pitch Report

The pitch at the Uppal Stadium has always been batsmen friendly, with decent help to the pacers initially.

In 68 IPL games that have been played at this venue, the average 1st innings score has been 158.4, and team chasing has come out trumps (38) on more occasions.

SRH have strangely struggled on their home turf this season, winning just 1 out of 4 fixtures.

The average 1st innings score so far this season at this venue is 170.5.

Chasing has proved to be tricky in night games- 1 win in three games. In the last match held at this venue, SRH failed to chase down a modest score of 144 on a pitch which aided both pacers and spinners.
