Jemimah Rodrigues, the India Women's star who is now a household name in the country because of her semi-final heroics in the Women's World Cup 2025, saw rare back-to-back failures in the ongoing WBBL 11.

Playing for the Brisbane Heat Women, Rodrigues recorded a total of 17 runs from her two outings in the overseas league cricket.

Rodrigues fails to prove her worth for Brisbane Heat

In her first match against the Melbourne Renegades Women, coming in at No. 3, Jemimah managed to bag a total of six runs only from the nine deliveries she faced before getting dismissed by Alice Capsey.

In her second outing for the franchise, against Perth Scorchers Women, Rodrigues managed to stay a little bit longer on the crease by facing 15 deliveries but was only able to bag 11 runs with one boundary to her name. In the currently ongoing match, Jemimah was sent back by Kiwi veteran Sophie Devine in the third ball of the seventh over.

The USD 110,000 buy of Brisbane Heat Women has proved to be a turn-down as of this season. However, it is important to note that the team showed faith in her by retaining her after her success in the previous edition, where she scored 267 runs from the 10 matches she played for Heat.

Jemimah's overall BBL stats stand at 661 runs from the four seasons she played for the Australian cash-rich league.

Heat cope up with Rodrigues rubble

Nevertheless, in the match, Rodrigues' failure was coped with by opener Grace Harris and Charli Knott, who kept up with the momentum to not lose the rhythm of the run flow and stand at 110+ at the end of 16 overs.

Meanwhile, Perth Scorchers skipper Sophie Devine led with the ball as she picked up two wickets already, one of Jemimah Rodrigues, and another of Charli Knott to make Heat bend their knees with a loss of 5 wickets at the time of writing.
