On Sunday, February 23, India and Pakistan, the two heavyweights of world cricket collided as Mohammad Rizwan and Co Took on The Men in Blue at the Dubai International Stadium. Talking about the match, Pakistan are the side under pressure as it is a virtual knock-out for them after an embarrassing defeat against New Zealand in the curtain-raiser match.

India Set An Embarrassing Record

Talking about India, then the Men in Blue scripted an unwanted record without a ball being bowled against Pakistan despite coming fresh off a win against Bangladesh. It is worth noting that India have had the worst luck when it comes to toss. Even against Pakistan, Rohit lost the toss. It was the 12th consecutive instance when an Indian captain had failed to win the toss.

Before this match,  India had levelled with the Netherlands for losing 11 tosses in ODIs, the joint-most by any team in ODI history. Now after the toss defeat against Pakistan, India have gone ahead of the Dutch to hold the record for most consecutive toss defeats in ODIs.

It is worth noting that Rohit Sharm-led side have not won a toss in ODIs since 2023 World Cup final against Australia. Since then, they played against South Africa, Sri Lanka, and England.

Rohit Sharma Makes No Changes For Pakistan Clash

After winning the toss, Pakistan opted to bat first. They were forced to make one change, but India on the other hand, opted for no change and went ahead with the same team that won them the match against Bangladesh.
