India Women (IND-W) and Sri Lanka Women (SL-W) are set to play a dead rubber 4th T20I on December 28 at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram after India Women bagged the series. The clash will be live for fans from 7:00 PM IST.

India Women

India Women completely dominated the third T20I as they are headed into the next game scheduled for December 28. The Indian bowlers, led by Renuka Singh Thakur and Deepti Sharma, wreaked havoc to restrict Sri Lanka to just 112 runs.

In response, Shafali Verma made light work of the chase with a fluent 79-run effort. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur stayed till the end as India Women sealed the match by eight wickets. The Women in Blue will look to carry forward this momentum as they continue to dominate a series they have already won.

Sri Lanka Women

Sri Lanka Women need to salvage their batting department if they want to save pride in this five-match series. Apart from Imesha Dulani and Hasini Perera, the Sri Lankan top and middle order crumbled like a house of cards.

After Perera’s dismissal in the sixth over of the third T20I, the Sri Lanka batters slipped to 98 for 7 by the end of 17.4 overs. The bowling department also needs serious improvement, with Sri Lanka Women having a lot of work to do to patch up the dents they have created in the ongoing series.

IND-W vs SL-W head-to-head overview

India Women and Sri Lanka Women have faced each other 29 times in T20I cricket. India hold a dominant head-to-head record with 23 wins while Sri Lanka have managed just five victories. One match between them ended in a no result.

Greenfield International Stadium Thiruvananthapuram pitch report

The surface at the Greenfield International Stadium is known to be batting-friendly, with T20Is here often producing high-scoring contests. Bowlers usually depend on variations and changes of pace to stay effective.

With two matches won by teams batting first and three by chasing sides, the venue favours the second innings batters. Hence, the captain winning the toss here might opt to bowl first.
