Team India, after securing victories in the Test and ODI series against West Indies, entered the third leg of their tour today, starting the five-match T20I series at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad with the goal of achieving a third consecutive series win.

West Indies skipper, Rovman Powell won the toss and decided to bat first. On the other hand, the Indian side is being led by all-rounder Hardik Pandya, with Suryakumar Yadav, the top-ranked T20I batter globally, is Pandya's deputy for this series. Mukesh Kumar who is currently living the dream of every player, made his T20I debut along with talented Mumbai Indians batter, Tilak Varma.

Brandon King provided WI with a promising start as he struck four 4s and one 6 in just 19 balls. It wasn't until Yuzvendra Chahal arrived on the field and spun his spell that things became tough for Powell and Co. Providing a crucial breakthrough, he not only took King's wicket but also sent Kyle Mayers back in just three balls of the power play. Both the openers, King and Mayers were dismissed and sent to the pavilion.

With two wickets gone things seemed rocky for the WI side, and Kuldeep Yadav didn't make things any easier as he managed to scalp another wicket and dismissed  Johnson Charles for only 3 runs.

It was Nicholas Pooran's 41 runs off 34 balls that steadied the ship for the team as his heroics helped the team power through and reach 96. It was debutant Tilak Varma  who took the crucial catch as Pandya struck in his final over to dismiss Pooran.

Rovman Powell's innings consisted of 3 fours and 3 sixes and a fantastic strike rate of 150. However, his luck ran out of time.  As  length delivery, moving across outside off-stump rattled, Powell as he attempted to power it over the boundary but ended up hitting it from the bottom of the bat. The shot carried to the long-off fielder and Suryakumar Yadav took a straightforward high catch, and Arshdeep Singh claimed his second wicket of the over, the first being Shimron Hetmyer who departed with just 10 runs.

A performance to note was from Indian debutant, Mukesh Kumar who's exceptional bowling restricted the Windies from hitting a single boundary during the final over of the match. Although, he failed to scalp a wicket, his calm and composure throughout the game was truly tremendous.

While, the bowling from the Indian-side has been remarkable it will be interesting to see how the Indian batting line-up performs in the upcoming innings.
