It was a blinder of innings from India's Shubman Gill who notched up his first double-hundred against the rampaging New Zealand side in Hyderabad. Batting 149 balls, Gill thumped 208 runs with as many as nine maximums and nineteen boundaries to become the fifth Indian to reach the landmark.

BlackCaps' all-rounder Daryl Mitchell was asked during the mid-innings break regarding Gill's knock and what is he expecting from their batting line-up.

To which Mitchell replied that it was an exceptional knock from the youngster while adding that he has full belief in his team to chase this mammoth target of 350, provided they start well.

"It was good fun and an electrifying atmosphere. We would have liked to restrict them further. I think Gill was exceptional and if we get a start and build the platform, you never know. That was an exceptional inning. Hats off to him.

"Yes, you are right, the odd ball is stopping and holding up and if you bowl in the right areas you can get the reward. I think if we start well and build a platform then we can chase this down."

Mitchell bowled well for the Kiwi side in the first innings as he scalped two wickets in just five overs giving away 30 runs.
