IND vs BAN 2nd Test: Wet Outfield Delays Start Of Day 3 In Kanpur

The second Test between India and Bangladesh has been dominated by rain so far. After a complete washout of Day 2, the start of Day 3 has been delayed because of the wet outfield. There is an inspection scheduled at 10 AM IST, and the good news is that there is no rain in Kanpur currently, so, we might get a start-time soon if the weather stays clear.

The drainage system has been an issue at the Green Park Stadium and it has made the job of groundstaff difficult to get the ground match-ready with incessant rain in Kanpur. On Day 1, only 35 overs were bowled while no cricket was possible on Day 2. However, the weather forecast is better for Day 3, and once the groundstaff get rid of some wet patches near the boundary line, the game can finally get underway.

Overcast Conditions Likely To Help Bowlers

The overhead conditions though are expected to be overcast throughout the day, and bowlers might get good help, but for all that to happen, it is imperative that rain stays away for the rest of the day. Once the game starts, there are chances that both teams would look to play positive cricket and push for the result in the remaining time left in this Test and it would be interesting to see how the time wasted will change the dyamics of this game.

Bangladesh currently have 107 on the board and have lost three wickets and they would need a good first innings score to put pressure on India. The home team, on the other hand, would be looking to wrap up Bangladesh's innings as quickly as possible in overcast conditions.
