The buzz around the retention rules for the mega auction is getting louder and louder with each passing day. Many cricket pundits and fans around the world are bringing out their list of retained players and debating about other dynamics of the auction, and to take the discussion forward, let's try to find out three Rajasthan Royals players who can break the bank in the mega auction.

Rajasthan Royals are likely to retain Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Yuzvendra Chahal and Riyan Parag for the 2025 season. So, it means that RR would have to have to leave some of their quality international performers and once they get into the auction, they are bound to fetch big bucks.

Nandre Burger

The South African pacer is one of the rising stars in world cricket. He has played across formats for his country in the last year or so and his ability to notch up around 150 KPH with good swing movement. He also has the ability to get extra byte off the pitch and is a genuine wicket-taker who can bowl in every situation.

He also showed his ability in the five matches he played for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024 by troubling the best of the batters, and is likely to get a lot of attention from various franchises. Also, franchises tend to go all-out for bagging quality international pacers in the auction, so we can expect Burger to be one of the most expensive players from the released RR players in the mega auction.

Shimron Hetmyer

The southpaw from Guyana has been one of the most successful finishers in IPL in recent times. He was an integral part of RR in the last few years and was an important pillar of their batting line-up with his ability to finish the games in crunch situations. He has all the gears in his batting, and with lack of quality finishers expected to be up for grabs in the auction, Hetmyer is likely to be in huge demand.

The Caribbean batter is a gun fielder too and his temperament and international experience makes him a valuable asset. Also, in CPL 2024, Hetmyer has shown great form and would be a great asset for any team that he plays for in the upcoming IPL.

Trent Boult

One of the finest left-arm pacers in the last decade or so is Trent Boult. He is a gun-Powerplay bowler and in the last few years, he played an integral part in RR's success by grabbing regular wickets with the new ball. Boult picked 16 wickets in 16 matches in the 2024 season, and more than the number of wickets, it is the early wickets that he takes which provides the headstart that often proves to be the difference between the two sides.

Also, as mentioned in Burger's case, pacers are always in high demand in IPL. So, given the world-class quality of Trent Boult, he is bound to be one of the most-sought after players in the upcoming mega-auction.
