The home side, India riding on the all-round abilities of comeback man Ravindra Jadeja destroyed the Australian side as he cleaned them up grabbing seven wickets with the ball and scoring 70 with the bat.

The left-hander batter proved too difficult for the visiting side to handle as some of his deliveries turned and others remained straight putting the batters in a stranglehold. With the bat, he was brilliant playing a calm knock along with Axar Patel to stitch an 88-run stand together taking India's score to 400.

After the game. Jadeja firstly thanked the National Cricket Academy (NCA) support staff for helping him recover from injury and later, revealed how he was planning to bowl.

"There was rough. I didn't try too much. I kept bowling in there on the right lines and lengths. Some did turn, some went with the arm, and some of them kept low as well. I am always up for challenges,"

Further, he mentioned that he likes to be a proper batter who can come in and score runs at crucial junctures for his side.

"I like to be a proper batter as well. I got the opportunity and cashed on it. I like pressure situations. I was happy to overcome that. I will be trying not to change much on my batting, and it's a crucial position (batting at 5,6,7)."

Jadeja received player of the match award for his performance and will next be seen playing in the second Test beginning on 17th February in Delhi.
