After the failure to buy a team in South Africa's SA2O league, former English superstar Kevin Pietersen still has his hopes high for the matter. Currently, working as a commentator in the league, the right-hander expects that he could buy a stake in one of the franchises.

To the unversed, all the six teams in the league were bought by Indian franchise owners with Pietersen being outbidded. His ambition is mainly due to the fact that he has been quite interested in that space for some time.

"Yes, I was one of the bidders. I wanted to buy one of the teams but I wouldn't have enough money to own a team. It's a space that interests me. I don't know if that's a possibility. But it interests me yes,"

Further, he commented on new innovations in the tournament have been quite influential as they could help innovate the game in future. He was all praise for the new concepts being introduced as he thinks the sport would remain interesting.

"The new rules are very, very good. The toss doesn't play too much of a role. I like the innovations. Bonus point is also a great idea. You can see bonus point has played a role here . I mean, you want to change the rules to make it more entertaining for everybody. Why not?"
