Australian captain Mitchell Marsh completed 2000 runs in T20 Internationals. The veteran cricketer achieved the remarkable milestone in Australia's second T20I against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Thus, he also went past Glenn Maxwell on the list of quickest Australian batters to breach the 2000-run landmark in terms of innings played.

After India were bundled out for 125 runs, Mitchell Marsh ensured a flying start for Australia, stitching a scintillating partnership with his opening partner Travis Head. Thus, the Australian skipper completed 2000 runs in T20I runs, becoming the fourth batter from his country to do so. 

Mitchell Marsh took 74 innings to enter the elite list of Australian batters with 2000 T20I runs, surpassing Glenn Maxwell, who attained the feat in 78 innings. Overall, he is the third-quickest Australian batter after Aaron Finch and David Warner to achieve the milestone.

Mitchell Marsh has had a memorable time with the bat in the ongoing India series. Fondly called 'the Bison', Marsh has showcased incredible power-hitting skills, emerging as Australia's Mr. consistent with the bat in recent times. 

The swashbuckling right-hander hammered 98 runs across three innings in the ODI series before scoring a brisk cameo in the MCG T20I. His 26-ball 46, comprising two boundaries and four huge sixes, set the foundation for Australia's clinical run-chase. Riding on Marsh's flamboyant knock, the hosts eventually went past the finish line, chasing 126 runs despite a few hiccups.
