Bagging an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series after a comprehensive victory in Raipur, India take on Australia in the fifth and final T20I on Sunday (December 3) on a quest to retain their dominance and stretch the margin of title victory.

Men in Blue and their Aussie rivals travel across to Bangalore at the iconic Chinnaswamy Stadium for the final face-off for the high-scoring series. We can expect another high-octane clash for supremacy, with runs galore from both the teams and bowlers put under the pump on another flat batting beauty.

IND vs AUS: Team Previews

India

Spin twins Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel remain India's biggest strength and a major point of difference between the two sides. As they had done previously, Bishnoi and Patel provided India with a leash and timely breakthroughs during the Australian innings in Raipur.

Defending 175 on a dryish surface against an understrength Australian line-up, Bishnoi and Patel ran riot through the middle phase, bagging critical wickets to finish with respective figures of 1/17 and 3/16. Their spells snatched the game away from the Aussies, who had planned to see them through and attack the seamers.

The pacers remain the weaker suit for India. Mukesh Kumar (0/42) and Deepak Chahar (2/44) proved highly expensive on the night, while only Avesh Khan (1/33) offered the side any sort of control at his end. That will be an area of concern for the team management heading into the final T20I, although no changes are expected.

Australia

For Australia, struggles on the bowling front have laid bare a longstanding problem for the nation, whose backup fast-bowling arsenal has been in horrific shape for quite some time now.

Bar left-arm swing bowler Jason Behrendorff, who bowled a fine spell of 2/32 in the last match, none of the second-string Aussie quicks have emerged as positives and have been taken apart over the last four outings.

Along with the inexperience in execution from young wrist-spinner Tanveer Sangha, it has meant extensive pressure on the Aussie batting line-up to do the heavy loading for an above-par score and hopes for the under lights dew to provide them with some respite.

Once third-T20I match-winner Glenn Maxwell, too, departed home, the task with the bat became doubly tricky for Australia's BBL-dominant set of personnel, who were bound to find life extremely tough with their fragile techniques against the Indian spinners on dryish surfaces.

IND vs AUS: Bangalore Pitch Report

If batters were told to imagine their perfect batting paradise with a flat surface, the truest pace and bounce, and the smallest boundary dimensions, they would imagine the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

One almost need not cast an eye on the surface to predict the nature of the pitch for a Bangalore T20I: the pitch is perennially flat and great for stroke-making. Bowlers better approach this game with a thick skin and strong mental resolve.

IND vs AUS: Winner Prediction

Dew could put paid to their ideas, but if it stays away, spinners Bishnoi and Axar could once again pose an intimidating threat to the inexperienced Aussie batting line-up. That could once again be a big difference in the end outcome. Expect India to retain their winning ways.
