The Women's Asia Cup 2022 semi-finals are set to kick off with India Women and Thailand Women vying for a place in the final. The match will be hosted by the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on Thursday, October 13.

India Women persisted with their continental dominance in the Asia Cup and once again made it to the semi-finals of the multinational tournament. Overall, Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. has been the team to beat this year, leading the points table with five wins from six games. 

Thailand Women, on the other hand, churned out some stellar performances in the tournament and managed to secure a place in the semi-finals of the tournament. They lost their previous match against India Women by nine wickets. 

Although Thailand Women will be keen to turn over their fortune and put on a tough fight against the Women in Blue, they have a tough task at hand in the form of the India Women. All in all, a cracking T20 game beckons at Sylhet. 

Key Players 

  • Jemimah Rodrigues has been impressive at the top, accumulating 188 runs in four matches at an average of 94 and a strike rate of 144.62. She is currently the leading run-scorer in the tournament. 
  • Shafali Verma has furnished some terrific performances with the willow. She is the second-highest run-scorer for India with 119 runs in four matches. She has also picked two wickets against Bangladesh Women. 
  • Smriti Mandhana, the star opening batter played a sensational knock of 47 runs off just 38 balls against Bangladesh. Overall, she has amassed 70 runs in three matches at an average of 23.33 and a strike rate of 109.
  • Deepti Sharma has bowled really well in the last few matches and has 10 wickets to her name in six innings at an economy of 3.91. She also is handy with the bat as well and has scored a half-century against UAE Women.
  • Nattakan Chantham: She is the leading run-getter for Thailand Women. So far, she has clobbered 116 runs in six innings. She played a match-winning knock of 61 runs off 51 balls to seal a historic win against Pakistan.
