MI Emirates has been a formidable force this ILT20 2024 season. Skipper Nicholas Pooran and Kiwi pace sensation Trent Boult have led the side to several thumping wins, so they sit right at the top of the points table.

However, the Emirates suffered a rare loss against the Gulf Giants on Thursday. Chasing a mediocre total of 158 runs, the Emirates fell short of a mere five runs as they were forced to gun down 30-odd runs in the final over.

Dubai Capitals won an absolute nail-biting last-ball thriller against Desert Vipers to keep the playoff hopes alive. The bowling department pulled off a good comeback in the death after the initial onslaught to restrict the Vipers to a 171-run total in the first inning.
