The 13th ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup will take place in India and Sri Lanka from September 30 to November 2, 2025. This year, eight of the world’s top teams, India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka will compete.

The tournament will feature 31 matches over 34 exciting days, with most games starting at 3 PM IST, except the New Zealand vs England match on October 26. This edition is special because it’s the first time India and Sri Lanka are co-hosting the event.

How Many Teams Will Participate In Women's ODI World Cup 2025?

A total of eight teams will compete in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. During the group stage, each team will play seven matches, one against every other team. The top four teams from the group stage will then advance to the knockout rounds.

The eight teams competing in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 are led by the following captains: Australia is captained by Alyssa Healy, Bangladesh by Nigar Sultana Joty, England by Nat Sciver-Brunt, India by Harmanpreet Kaur, New Zealand by Sophie Devine, Pakistan by Fatima Sana, South Africa by Laura Wolvaardt, and Sri Lanka by Chamari Athapaththu.

Women's ODI World Cup 2025: Venues

The matches will be played in Guwahati, Indore, Visakhapatnam, and Navi Mumbai in India, and in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Colombo will host ten matches, including all of Pakistan’s games, the first semi-final, and the final if Pakistan makes it that far.
