'I Was Waiting For A Long Time...' Prabhsimran Singh Gets Emotional After His Maiden IPL Century

The game between DC-PBKS at the Arun Jaitley Stadium was a big game and Punjab have managed to get past PBKS by a comprehensive margin to gather two crucial points. The win was set up by Prabhsimran Singh's superb century under pressure as he single-handedly took Punjab to a challenging total of 167.

The total of 167 proved way too much for DC in the end and Prabhsimran Singh was awarded player of the match award for his superb efforts. Talking after the match, Prabhsimran Singh said that they lost wickets early and that is why he took a bit longer to go for his shots than he normally does. He credited seniors and Punjab management for backing him and giving him consistent chances.

"There was nothing in my mind. We lost early wickets so I thought of taking it a bit longer. I am with the team since a long time and have learnt a lot from the seniors. I am getting back to back opportunities this season so I want to bank on it,"

The young opener added that he decided to target the bowlers after spending sometime in the middle and reckoned that it was an important knock for him and he waited for a long time for it. Prabh said that the celebration he did after scoring a century was the same that he does in domestic cricket as well.

"We lost wickets early on and the ball was turning so I wanted to stay there. Then I targeted my bowlers after spending some time. It is an important knock for me as I was waiting for a long time. The senior players have told me to go and make a big half century as well.I have the same celebration in domestic cricket as well. I pray to the god and I am thankful to the management as well."

Punjab Kings will now play their next game against the same opposition, Delhi Capitals on 17th of May at Dharamshala.
