The right-armer tall lanky Ishant Sharma returned to the biggest extravaganza Indian Premier League (IPL) and won his side Delhi Capitals (DC) a game straightway against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after losing five on the trot.

Sharma's spell of 2 for 19 stole the limelight from other bowlers as they were able to restrict the opposition to a low total of 127. However, in the second innings, the match turned into an extremely tight encounter with Delhi winning in the final over by four wickets.

Ishant was declared the player of the match for his sensational performance and after which, the 34-year-old said that he was waiting for his chance and as soon as he got it, his only objective was to perform well for his side.

"I was just waiting for my chance. So whenever I will get a chance, I just want to win a game for the team, that's all I was thinking,"

"Every single day the areas changes. It just depends on what kind of plans do you have about certain batters so we talk a lot about this in the bowling meetings. It's just a matter of time and you just want to execute those plans so that's what I was thinking about,"

Further, his thinking is that there's no lucky charm in the team and it all depends on how they played on a given day as they want to keep their qualification hopes alive.

"I think there is no lucky charm in the team. It's just the way we played. We want to win most of the games and every single game now from here and qualify and hopefully, we can win the tournament."

Ishant will next bowl the ball for Delhi when they next battle it out against SunRisers Hyderabad on 24th of April.
