Another day, another dominant show from New Zealand as they have made two wins in two matahces. The Black Caps made light work of Zimbabwe by chasing down 121-run target with ridiculous ease to seal an 8-wicket win in the third match of the Zimbabwe T20I tri-series in Harare.

With this win, the Kiwis have once again shown why they are a well-oiled T20 unit while Zimbabwe were left scratching their heads after another limp performance.

Here’s a look at ZIM vs NZ highlights:

Zimbabwe Struggle To Get Going

Asked to bat first, Zimbabwe had a golden chance to set the tone on a decent Harare surface. But the home side never found their rhythm, struggling against some disciplined Kiwi bowling.

Opener Wessly Madhevere tried to anchor the innings, scoring 36 off 32, but lacked support from the other end. Brian Bennett made 21, and Ryan Burl looked good in his 12 off 9 but none of them converted their starts. Even captain Sikandar Raza couldn’t find his timing, crawling to 12 off 18 before falling to Mitchell Santner.

Wickets kept falling at regular intervals. After a 37-run opening stand, Zimbabwe crumbled under pressure and managed just 120/7 in their 20 overs, a total that was clearly below par.

Kiwi Bowlers Tighten The Screws

New Zealand’s bowlers were on point right from the word go. Matt Henry was the pick of the lot, picking up 3 wickets for 26 runs. He was well-supported by Adam Milne, Santner, Bracewell, and Rachin Ravindra, who all chipped in with a wicket each.

Santner’s tight spell of 1/18 in four overs put a lid on Zimbabwe’s scoring in the middle overs. Ravindra was a surprise package, bowling three overs for just 10 runs and even picking up the key wicket of Clive Madande.

Conway Puts On A Show

Chasing 121, New Zealand lost Tim Seifert early for just 3 but that was the only hiccup in what turned out to be a clinical run chase. Devon Conway looked in complete control, smashing 59* off just 40 balls with 4 boundaries and 2 sixes. He kept the scoreboard ticking and didn’t let the bowlers settle.

Rachin Ravindra joined the party with a quickfire 30 off 19 balls, including 4 fours and a six. The pair stitched together a 59-run stand that broke Zimbabwe’s back. After Ravindra fell, Daryl Mitchell finished things off with an unbeaten 26 off 19.

None of the Zimbabwe bowlers looked threatening. Trevor Gwandu’s 1.5 overs went for 28 and Raza himself couldn’t provide a breakthrough. While Blessing Muzarabani did pick up a wicket, it was too little too late. The fielding looked flat, and the bowling lacked bite.

Meanwhile, New Zealand now look like a team hitting their stride while Zimbabwe will have a lot to reflect on when they take on South Africa in the fourth T20I of the Zimbabwe T20I Tri-Series 2025 on Sunday, July 20.
