India vs South Africa: As it happened

India batted first and mounted 298-7 from 50 overs, with Shafali Verma punching out 87 from 78 balls with seven fours and two sixes at the top of the order. Deepti Sharma also cracked a run-a-ball 58, while Richa Ghosh provided the finishing touches to the innings.

Later in the game, South African captain Laura Wolvaardt led her team from the front with a sizzling century. However, lack of support from the other end, coupled with some bowling brilliance from Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma helped India clinch the 2025 World Cup by 52 runs.
