The Indian Women's team is currently participating in the Women's Asia Cup 2024 in Sri Lanka. They have started off their campaign with a convincing win against their arch-rivals, Pakistan.

Following the big win, India are now playing against the UAE-woman in their second game. Esha Rohit Oza won the toss and put India to bat first.

India struggle early in the innings

The start was not a strong one for the Indians as they lost the in-form Smriti Mandhana in the third over. Mandhana was soon followed by Shafali Verma and Dayalan Hemlatha, who were dismissed around the fifth over, and India seemed to be in trouble.

Harmanpreet and Richa power India to record total

However, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh resurrected the Indian innings. Kaur set the stage for the team with her 66 off 47. Later, Richa Ghosh capitalized on the foundation and played a blazing knock of 64* off 29, powering India past the 200 mark. India finished their innings with 201/5 in their 20 overs.

Notably, this is the first time that the Indian women's team has gone past the 200 mark in the T20I format. The highest team total in the T20I format, however, belongs to Argentina women, who posted a mammoth 427/1 vs Cille Women in October 2023.

Here are the top five totals by India women in the T20I format.
