Rain in Dharamsala (X.com)
The 58th match of IPL 2024 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings has been halted by the unexpected showers and hailstorm at Dharamsala after RCB raced to 119 at the halfway mark. The covers have been brought on and let's hope that the weather clears away soon, and we get a full game of cricket at the beautiful HPCA stadium in Dharamsala.
Earlier, Punjab Kings won the toss and decided to bowl first. Vidwath Kaverappa impressed straightaway and got two big wickets of Faf du Plessis and Will Jacks. Virat Kohli got two lifelines as well and he made them count by stitching up a counter-attacking stand with Patidar.
The RCB number 4 departed just before the rain and hailstorm arrived but his knock of 55 off just 23 balls, have put RCB in a very strong position.
Virat Kohli is batting on 42 and Cameron Green has just walked out to the middle, and let's see how things unfold when the play eventually resumes.
The latest update - The hailstorm and rain has stopped at Dharamsala and the covers have also come off. Match will restart at 8:55 PM IST!
