GT vs PBKS IPL 2025 Match Sets New Record For This Rivalry

The recently concluded Indian Premier League 2025 match between Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad was a record-breaking one. With as many as 475 runs being scored across both the innings, it is the highest match aggregate for a contest between these two teams.

While Punjab had participated in a 500-run clash last season, this is the first time Gujarat are part of a match where 450+ runs have been scored. In what was the sixth match of this rivalry, both the teams have won thrice each.

An outlier in terms of results, however, is the fact that the chasing team ended up on the losing side for the first time in a match between GT vs PBKS. With a 200-run target getting achieved once last season, the first five matches between them had resulted in a victory for the side batting second.

Titans-Kings Rivalry Sets New Record

It is worth mentioning that both matches between these two teams at the Narendra Modi Stadium have been prototypical high-scoring cliffhangers.

Taking into consideration how Titans fell short of a 244-run target by just 11 runs, a couple of shots would’ve powered them to what would’ve been their highest successful run-chase. As a matter of fact, they have never been able to seal a run-chase in excess of 200 till now.
