How Will the Galle International Stadium Pitch Behave?

The Galle International Stadium is renowned for its spin-friendly conditions. Over the years, the pitch has increasingly favoured spinners as the match progresses, creating challenges for teams batting last.

While the early days of the game may provide less spin, the situation changes as the pitch wears down and cracks begin to appear, allowing spinners to dominate. Hence, the toss-winning captain might like to abuse the early favourable conditions and rack up some good scores by choosing to bat first.
