Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) are set to lock horns in the 24th match of the ongoing IPL 2025 season. The much-anticipated encounter is being played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday evening. In a significant development, DC skipper Axar Patel won the toss and elected to bowl first.

It is important to note that for DC, Faf du Plessis and Mukesh Kumar are in and Abishek Porel and Sameer Rizvi are out. Meanwhile, for RCB they are playing with the same XI. 

RCB vs DC's Journey So Far

RCB, currently placed third on the points table, have had an impressive start to their campaign, winning three of their first four matches. The Bengaluru-based side is looking to maintain momentum and climb further up the standings with another win at home.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals come into the match with an unblemished record, having won all three of their games so far. Sitting at the top of the table, DC will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run and solidify their dominance in the tournament.

Axar Patel (Delhi Capitals Captain): "We will bowl first. The finger is fine, I am protecting it but if needed I will bowl 4 overs. Faf is fit so he is back in, Sameer Rizvi is out. Faf and Jake will open the innings so KL Rahul will bat lower in the middle order. The role of spinners is also important but the seamers have taken wickets here as well. If the spinner needs to contain, we will contain. We have 2 leg spinners and the message is to go for the wickets in the middle overs which will automatically contain the run flow."

Rajat Patidar (Royal Challengers Bengaluru Captain): "Definitely, we wanted to chase. To be honest, as usual. The surface is pretty hard, and we will try to post a good total on the board. We will try to put them under pressure. There has been a little bit of planning, but I always trust my instinct. It's important to win the home matches as well. It is important to have the momentum in this tournament. We want to do well at home. No, we have no changes."
