It was Virat Kohli who came out for toss to lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the game against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Mohali's IS Bindra Stadium. The reason being Faf du Plessis not being full fit to take the field, hence only playing as a pure batter.

On the other hand, Punjab's Sam Curran came from the dressing room again instead of regular skipper Shikhar Dhawan as he is recovering from an injury too.

The home side won the toss and opted to field first which by the end of powerplay has mostly backfired on them.

The duo of du Plessis and Kohli have thumped 59 runs in the first six overs as the batters were on their respective scores of 27 and 29.

Both the batters have been firing all cylinders on the PBKS bowlers with 17 runs coming against Harpreet Brar in the fourth over.

RCB brought their fifty in 5.1 overs when skipper Curran brought himself into the attack looking for a breakthrough.

However, nothing has worked in their favour with six fours and two sixes being hit by the two stalwarts.
