Breaking: Virat Kohli Set to Lead RCB vs PBKS

In a big breaking, Virat Kohli is all set to lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 27th match of the IPL on Thursday.

Faf du Plessis is set to miss the game due to an unfortunate injury and Kohli returns as the captain for this game.

Faf du Plessis, the regular skipper of the franchise suffered from a rib injury during the match against Chennai Super Kings last time around, and can’t take the field as a result of the injury. However, Kohli stated that Faf will be used as an impact player later on.

Faf du Plessis will open alongside Kohli as RCB are batting first, but will be taken off the field and Kohli wll lead the side.

On the other hand, Kohli is no stranger when it comes to the RCB captaincy. He was given the command of the side in 2011, and was at the heldm till the 2021 season.

Talking about the match, Liam Livingstone will make his much awaited return to the PBKS playing XI. The England batter was out of the game for the last four months due to a knee injury and will strengthen the squad with his return. For RCB, Suyash Prabhudessai makes way into the RCB playing XI. Still no place for Josh Hazlewood.

PBKS have won the toss and have elected to bowl first.
