Heather Knight ecstatic about playing five-day Women's Ashes Test

On Wednesday, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced that the upcoming Women's Ashes 2023 Test will be a first-ever five-day affair between England and Australia. Recently, there have been calls to make the Women's Test a five-day event rather than a four-day ones, which has seen all six matches over the last five years end in painful draws.
The historic five-day Ashes Test will begin on June 22 and will be played at Trent Bridge, just two days after the first Men's Ashes 2023 Test at Edgbaston.
England skipper Heather Knight has welcomed this decision by the boards and called the move a logical progression in her interview with PA news agency.
"I'm so happy, I feel like I've been banging the drum for five days for a long time, so it's a special moment. It feels like the right time, for five days, for bigger grounds, and it feels like it's been a long time coming,"
"I probably spent most of my career being grateful for what you're given. When I started out anything was a bonus, you were just happy to be playing the sport you love for England and not even getting paid, but my eyes have opened a bit more. You see the inequalities you've gone through and not really realised."
The one-off Ashes Test will be followed by a 3-match T20I and ODI series as well, taking place between July 1 and 18.
