India’s cricket calendar is buzzing with action as two major tournaments are about to begin – the Asia Cup 2025 and the Duleep Trophy. Interestingly, several players will feature in both events, showing how India’s domestic and international cricket are closely connected.

On August 19, BCCI revealed the 15-member squad for the Asia Cup 2025, which will be held in the UAE. The squad sees some notable inclusions and returns, adding strength to the team that previously lifted the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Players like Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and others form the core of this powerful side.

At the same time, BCCI is also set to launch its new domestic season with the Duleep Trophy, starting August 28 at the state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Notably, the Duleep Trophy is making a comeback in its zonal format after being last played this way in the 2023-24 season.

This year, six teams will participate, North, South, West, East, Central, and NorthEast – giving fans a chance to see some of the country’s best talents in action.

What’s exciting is that several players are part of both the Asia Cup squad and the Duleep Trophy teams.

Players Who Are A Part Of Duleep Trophy Team's Squad:

  • Yashasvi Jaiswal (West Zone)
  • Tilak Varma (South Zone)
  • Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana (North Zone)
  • Riyan Parag (East Zone)
  •  Kuldeep Yadav and Dhruv Jurel (Central Zone)

It is important to mention that the Duleep Trophy will start on August 28, with the final scheduled for September 15. Meanwhile, the Asia Cup 2025 will begin on September 9, with India playing their first match on September 10 against the UAE. The tournament will conclude on September 29.
