Another India vs Pakistan match, but this time the tables have turned as Pakistan batters have come out all guns blazing with aggressive stroke-play against the Indian bowlers, who looked toothless in the first 10 overs. The star of the show was opener Sahibzada Farhan, who tore apart the opponent with a fiery fifty.

However, his quick-fire knock wasn’t smooth as the batter was dropped twice (both times by Abhishek Sharma) as the Pakistan batter made the Indian bowlers pay for the dropped chances. He rushed away to a 34-ball fifty after slamming Axar Patel for a six, and had a rather interesting celebration after reaching the landmark.

After a gigantic six to score his fifty, Sahibzada Farhan brought out the Bazooka celebration. In sporting terms, the celebration refers to firing a bazooka, often with a bat or trophy, seemingly showcasing triumph over the opposition.

However, it felt like the batter mocked the Indian fans, especially after what transpired between the two nations during Operation Sindoor. The celebration looked more like a dig towards the opponent, rather than celebrating his brilliant knock.

But at the same time, the bazooka celebration is also used to silence doubters. The Pakistan opening batter silenced his critics who lambasted him for a poor showing in the ongoing Asia Cup event.

Tension rising between India and Pakistan in Asia Cup

Even before the start of the Asia Cup, India decided to maintain professional conduct with Pakistan as they decided not to shake hands with them in the group stage match. This infuriated the Men in Green as they reached out to the ICC and filed a complaint against the match referee for siding with India and not punishing them.

When the ICC rejected PCB’s plea, the team decided to boycott the Asia Cup match vs the UAE before taking a U-turn at the last moment, and this game, so far, has been filled with fiery exchanges, as witnessed with Farhan’s celebration.
