South African batting sensation Dewald Brevis pulled off an audacious no-look six against Wes Agar in the Vitality T20 Blast 2025 South Group match at the St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury. Batting at number five, the cricketer packed 24 quick runs for Hampshire off just 18 deliveries after the fall of three early wickets in the innings.

Brevis was eventually dismissed by Matt Parkinson around the halfway stage of the innings, before Joe Weatherley carried on the momentum alongside James Fuller and Benny Howell to take Hampshire to a competitive total.

Batting at number five and arriving to the crease at a precarious 29-3 from four overs, Dewald Brevis fought back for Hampshire alongside number four batter Joe Weatherley. The two cricketers crafted 34 runs from five overs, with Brevis himself chipping in with a quick 18-ball 24 with three huge sixes at the St Lawrence Ground.

Notably, one of Dewald Brevis’ sixes landed deep into the leg side off Kent fast bowler and Australia import Wes Agar. Moreover, it was not just the distance that turned heads of an exuberant Canterbury crowd, it was the sheer audacity of execution, as Brevis turned down his head at the moment of impact to complete a nonchalant no-look six that oozed swagger and confidence.

While Brevis was dismissed by Matt Parkinson the following over, his attacking cameo paved way for Joe Weatherley (63* off 46), James Fuller (27 off 17) and Benny Howell (23 off 14) to blitz Hampshire to a competitive 177-7 from 20 overs.

Unfortunately for Dewald Brevis and Hampshire, bowlers failed to complement batter’s efforts as a Zak Crawley-inspired Kent line-up romped to an easy eight-wicket win with an over to spare.
