India Women walloped arch-rivals Pakistan to maintain their unbeaten run this 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup. Fast bowler Kranti Goud hogged the limelight with the ball for the ‘Women in Blue’ after blistering wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh scored a cracking 35*.

Here, we take a look at the entire highlights of the sixth match of the 2025 Women’s World Cup between India Women and Pakistan Women, as it panned out at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, October 5.

Harleen Deol anchors, Richa Ghosh blazes India to competitive 247

Indian openers Pratika Rawal (31 off 37) and Smriti Mandhana (23 off 32) failed to convert their confident starts as the two well-set batters were dismissed in quick succession by Sadia Iqbal and Fatima Sana respectively. Harleen Deol at number three top-scored in the innings with her fluent 46-run knock from 65 balls.

Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur made just 19 from her end before the seasoned campaigner became the first of Diana Baig’s four victims of the day. Jemimah Rodrigues (32 off 37), Deepti Sharma (25 off 33) and Sneh Rana (20 off 33) all chipped in with valuable runs in the backend of the innings, while Richa Ghosh smeared a cracking 20-ball 35* as India Women reached 247 in 50 overs.

For Pakistan, Baig picked up three wickets in the slog overs to claim figures of 4-69. Sadia Iqbal and Fatima Sana chipped in with two wickets each while Rameen Shamim and Nashra Sandhu struck once in their respective 10-over spells.

Kranti Goud, Deepti Sharma devour Amin’s 81 as India clinch one-sider

A sensational runout from Deepti Sharma and an early wicket for fast bowler Kranti Goud had Pakistan Women reeling at 20-2 in 7.3 overs. Pakistan’s number three Sidra Amin waged her team’s lone rebellion in the run-chase by composing 81 runs off 106 balls with nine boundaries and a six, thus aggregating over half of Pakistan’s overall score in the game.

While Amin shared a valuable 69-run partnership with Natalia Pervaiz (33 off 46), regular wickets from Kranti (3-20) and Sneh Rana (2-38) as well as the finishing act from Deepti Sharma (3-45) enveloped the entire ‘Women in Green’ innings for just 159 in 43 overs, thus allowing India Women to walk away with the honours with an 88-run margin.
