The 12th match of the Caribbean Premiere League (CPL) 2023 will be played between St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and Trinbago Knight Riders on Monday, August 28.

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots 

St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots didn't have the best run, losing their initial two matches straight up. Things didn't improve as they went on to lose the next three games in a row. To make matters worse, they are heading into this match fresh off a tough loss to Barbados Royals, who outscored them by six wickets. 

Their batters managed to rack up a solid 196 runs on the scoreboard for the loss of six wickets after putting in to bat. Andre Fletcher led the batting charge with a stupendous half-century, while players like Sherfane Rutherford, Dominic Drakes, and Corbin Bosch also chipped in with some speedy contributions. 

However, the issue lies in their bowling lineup, which has been their Achilles' heel. If we delve into their most recent loss, it's clear that their bowlers shouldered the blame, with high economy rates. Notably, Oshane Thomas and Sherfane Rutherford were the costly ones. 

To turn the tide, they must unite as a bowling force and reconsider their tactics against the formidable opponent's batting powerhouse. Adding to that, the batters have to step up their game and find a consistent scoring rhythm. Their batting performance has been a bit hit-or-miss up until now. 

Trinbago Knight Riders 

On the other hand, the Trinbago Knight Riders kicked off their tournament run against none other than the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots. However, that game got rained out. And then, in their next match, they took a pretty big hit against the Saint Lucia Kings, losing by a whopping 54 runs. 

The Saint Lucia Kings managed to post 167 runs on the board for the loss of five wickets, having been sent in to bat first. In response, the Trinbago Knight Riders had a total collapse, getting bowled out for a mere 113 runs in just 14.5 overs. 

It's pretty embarrassing that a batting lineup featuring big names like Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, and Dwayne Bravo could not even chase down this run-of-the-mill target. They must be looking to bounce back stronger in this game and register their first point in the tournament.
