Corbin Bosch has grown in stature in the last couple of years with quality performances in both international cricket and T20 leagues. The cricketer has also swiftly adjusted to the longest format of the game and smashed his maiden Test century against Zimbabwe after an impressive debut against Pakistan.

Corbin Bosch Puts Himself In A Rare League With Heroics vs Zimbabwe

The all-rounder walked out to bat number 8 and scored an unbeaten 100 off 124 balls, becoming just the seventh South African to score a ton in that position. In the process, he has also surpassed some South African greats like Quinton de Kock and Pollock, who have scores of 91 and 99* at number 8.

Mark Boucher, the former South African wicketkeeper and Ex-MI coach, has the highest score for his country at number eight. JP Duminy is another modern-day cricketer who has a hundred at that position. Thus, Corbin Bosch, with his fantastic century, has put his name among the finest of South African cricket.

Corbin Bosch Takes South Africa To A Strong Position

The all-rounder walked out to bat with South Africa in trouble at 181-6. It looked like they would find it difficult to cross 250, but Bosch batted with great ease and provided good support to the other centurion Lhuan-dre Pretorius initially.

After Pretorius' dismissal, Corbin Bosch took the responsibility of doing the bulk of the scoring. He found boundaries at regular intervals and got decent support from the likes of Keshav Maharaj and Codi Yusuf.

Thus, South Africa, who were struggling at one point in time, managed to reach 418 in a single day. Corbin Bosch hit 10 fours in his knock and has once again proven his utility as a cricketer for South Africa.

Thus, if Corbin Bosch can continue to deliver such contributions, he can provide depth to the South African batting line-up, which would be crucial in their World Test Championship defence.
