In the ongoing match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, the hosts are struggling as Hardik Pandya and his men are finding it tough to chase 222 runs.
RCB, batting first, put 221 runs on the board. In reply, MI have lost four wickets for less than 100 runs on the board with Suryakumar Yadav being the latest victim. RCB provided SKY with several lifelines and the one that hogged the headlines was the fielding blunder by Yash Dayal and Jitesh Sharma.

Notably, on the 2nd ball of the 12th over, SKY mistimed his shot and the ball went straight-up in the air. It was supposed to be a dolly catch for Yash Dayal, but Jitesh Sharma too ran for the catch and both the players failed to listen to each other's call. Eventually, they collided and fell on the ground injured and the chance went begging.
The incident sent the internet into a frenzy as MI fans were quick to troll RCB and they also compared the fielding effort with that of Pakistan.

It was not the first time that such a incident occurred in an IPL match as Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer too had a similar situation where they collided and dropped a simple catch. The incident occurred during IPL 2023.
Talking about the ongoing match, MI are 133/4 and still require 88 to win off 38 balls.
