Australia is set to lock horns with the West Indies for the final time this summer at Gabba. Meanwhile, ahead of the series-deciding pink ball Test, both sides have announced confirmed playing XI, and Aussie fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

Australia will take on West Indies to stake a claim in the two-game Test series on Thursday. The rare pink ball Test has been scheduled at the hosts' fortress, Gabba in Brisbane.

Meanwhile, ahead of the pivotal game, both sides confirmed their respective starting XI. Australia successfully passed hiccups as both Usman Khawaja and Travis Head have been included despite injury and illness concerns.

Khawaja took a blow in the Adelaide Test and spat blood before walking off the field. He later underwent numerous tests for concussion as his participation in the final Test hung in the balance. Fortunately, the opening batter averted the worst and will take the field in Gabba on Thursday.

Besides, Travis Head, who tested COVID-19 positive a couple of days ago, has been cleared by the medical staff. After Cameron Green and coach Andrew McDonald contacted Covid, rumors of an outbreak in the host camp gained momentum. However, Australia squashed any concerns as it included both Green and Head for the final Test.

Notably, Matt Renshaw is a backup batter but won't join the squad until Thursday, owing to his prior commitments to BBL.

On the other hand, West Indies have announced only one change in the playing XI for the pink ball Test. Kevin Sinclair is set to make his debut in Gabba, replacing Gudakesh Motie in the final XI. Kevin's addition will increase the batting depth in the visitor's camp.

Besides, West Indies will bank heavily on rising star Shamar Joseph, who wreaked havoc with his fiery deliveries on his Test debut in Adelaide.

Overall, the stage is set for a gripping series finale. While Aussies will look to stake a claim on the series, West Indies are fighting for survival.
