The COVID-19 bug is back and has spread its arms wide in the Australian camp ahead of the upcoming second Test against West Indies in Brisbane starting tomorrow.

Head coach Andrew McDonald and all-rounder Cameron Green have both tested positive for the virus and will only take part in the second Test 'provided they feel well enough'.  The duo have been separated from the Australian squad and support staff until their COVID tests return negative as stated in a Cricket Australia (CA) statement.

Here is the Cricket Australia (CA) statement -

“Cameron Green and Andrew McDonald will be separated from the group until they return a negative test. It will not hinder Green taking part in or McDonald attending the match in line with CA protocols.”

Meanwhile, star player Travis Head, who tested positive for COVID during the first Test at Adelaide, has returned with two negative results for the virus, first on Tuesday, and secondly today (Wednesday).

Irrespective of his illness, Head starred for Australia in the first of the two Test series, slamming a match-winning 119, where Pat Cummins and Co. registered a dominating 10-wicket victory, and gaining an unassailable 1-0 lead.

Opener Usman Khawaja, too, has been cleared to feature in the Gabba Test, after coping up with a nasty blow from a bouncer in on Day 3 of the Adelaide encounter.
