Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah stole the limelight in his third over when he celebrated Haris Rauf's dismissal in style.
Bumrah celebrates Rauf's wicket in style
Notably, on the fifth ball of the 18th over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a peach of a yorker to Haris Rauf and rattled his furniture. After taking the wicket, the right-arm seamer hit back at the Pakistan pacer and celebrated the dismissal with 'Pakistan jet down' celebration. Watch the wicket here.
It was a hit back to Rauf, who had made objectionable and baseless 'jet crash' gesture to Indian crowd during super four fixture, for which the ICC had also reprimanded Rauf with a 30% match fees fine.
Why did Bumrah celebrate his wicket with 'Jet down' gesture
The controversy erupted after India vs Pakistan super four fixture where Haris Rauf, who was frustrated with the result, turned towards the Indian crowd and mocked them by making a baseless gesture of 'Jet down'. The move didn't go well and the BCCI had eventually filed a complaint against the ICC.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) held an international hearing where the player appeared before match referee and announced his case. After a long discussion, the ICC imposed a 30% match fees fine on the Pakistan seamer.
The celebration from Bumrah quickly went viral on the internet, where the fans hailed Jasprit for giving it back to the seamer. Also, the fans were stunned to see Jasprit engage in such activities as he usually maintains a calm demeanour.
