Capitals vs Kings Highlights: Tanzid Hasan takes charge after Jason Roy’s failure

Dhaka Capitals were batting first and received a big blow from Jason Roy. The opener got stumped by Mithun and departed after scoring just 1 run in 4 balls. However, to salvage the damage, Tanzid Hasan stepped up. 

He stitched a 42-run partnership with Stevie Eskinazi, of which Hasan contributed 37 runs. He scored a half-century before Wasim dismissed him for 54 off 48 balls. Hasan miscued a big shot on a full toss, resulting in an easy catch for the mid-off fielder.

Sabbir Rahman took up the courage to capitalise on the momentum set up by Tanzid Hasan. He unleashed carnage on Mohammad Wasim to hit him for 18 runs in the 18th over. With nine big sixes and three boundaries, Rahman finished with a mighty 82* off just 33 balls. His strike rate of 248.48 helped Dhaka Capitals put a convincing total of 177/5 on the board at the end of the first inning.

Meanwhile, the chase began on a shaky note for Chittagong Kings. They lost opener Parvez Emon for 17 off 16 balls. However, Usman Khan and Graham Clark stabilised the innings with a notable 100-run partnership. Usman Khan was impressive as he slammed 55 off 33 balls before Mustafizur forced him to mistime his shot with a slower delivery. The fielder at deep cover points took an easy catch to end Usman’s entertaining knock.

Once Graham Clark was dismissed by Mosaddek Hossain on 39 off 32 balls, Mohammad Mithun and Shamim Hossain knitted a 40-odd runs partnership to put Kings in a comfortable position. Hossain, in particular, appeared in a hurry as he smashed 30 runs in just 14 balls, including a maximum and four boundaries. Chittagong Kings chased the target with three balls to spare to register an emphatic seven-wicket victory.
