Haris Rauf injury- (Source:@Paknet/X.com)
In a significant development, Pakistan have dealt a heavy blow as their star seamer Haris Rauf has walked off the field with an injury in the first ODI of the tri-nation series between Pakistan and New Zealand at the Gaddafi Stadium.
Notably, Rauf looked in great touch and was bowling gas, before he felt pain and discomfort on his side. The incident occurred on the 2nd ball of the 37th over when Rauf knew he has potentially suffered a side-strain injury after bowling that delivery. He looked in immense pain and didn't even wait for the physio to treat him on the ground and walked off the field.
It is a big blow to Pakistan as Champions Trophy starts from February 19 and they can't afford to lose another star player after Saim Ayub to injury.

Before the injury, Rauf was breathing fire as he had already bowled six overs and had taken a crucial wicket of Tom Latham and sent Kiwi Test captain for a three-ball duck. Further, Rauf was also clocking 144 kmph, which was a positive sign for Pakistan. However, the injury is now making the entire Pakistan sweat hard as they are hoping for a minor injury that can be healed quickly and make Rauf available for the Champions Trophy.
It is worth noting that Rauf has a tryst with injuries and it has taken him a long time to recover from them. So far, there is no update from PCB's medical team regarding the seriousness of the injury.
