The 3rd match of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2023-24 will be played between Adelaide Strikers and Brisbane Heat on Saturday, December 9, at the Adelaide Oval, Australia.

Adelaide Strikers had a disappointing season last year, finishing second to last in the points table. Their struggle was evident, winning only five out of the 14 league stage matches and failing to secure a spot in the tournament playoffs.

With Matthew Short at the helm this season once again, the Adelaide Strikers aim to reverse their fortunes and make a strong run in the tournament. While their batting unit is seasoned and robust, the bowling department is lacking in experience. 

Brisbane Heat 

On the other hand, the Brisbane Heat is riding high, coming off a whopping 103-run victory against the Melbourne Stars in their tournament opener. Colin Munro stole the show, slamming an unbeaten 99 runs from just 61 balls, powering the Heat to a mammoth total of 214 runs.

Besides Colin Munro, Marnus Labuschagne, and Max Bryant played their part with crucial contributions. Meanwhile, the bowlers did a phenomenal job, dismantling the star-studded Melbourne Stars lineup for just 111 runs in 15.1 overs. Mitchell Swepson emerged as the bowling hero, clinching a terrific three-wicket haul.
