BAN-W vs IND-W, 3rd T20I | Bangladesh Bowlers Run Riot as India Finish On a Paltry Total

Riding on bowlers' stupendous performance, Bangladesh Women restricted their Indian counterparts to a paltry total for the second consecutive time in the ongoing T20I series. The host bowlers kept it tight, which is why India managed a meagre 102 on the board in allotted 20 overs.

India stabilise after a horrible start

After opting to bat first on a sluggish pitch, India were off to a disastrous start, losing Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma cheaply inside four overs. However, the experienced duo of Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues steadied the ship for India, stitching a vital 45-run stand for the third wicket. While Rodrigues slammed 28 runs, including four boundaries, off 26 deliveries, skipper Kaur held his nerves for a 41-ball 40 on the tricky Dhaka surface.

Bangladesh bounce back as Indian batters fall flat

However, Shorna Akter provided Bangladesh with a crucial breakthrough, dismissing Rodrigues in the 12th over. India's scoreboard kept ticking steadily until the 17th over, which saw Kaur lose her wicket to Fahima Khatun. The floodgates opened for India after her departure, with their lower middle order falling like a pack of cards against the Bangladesh bowlers. As a result, the visitors managed 102 on the board for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.

Brief Scores

India Women: 102/9 (20)
Harmanpreet Kaur 40 (41), Jemimah Rodrigues 28 (26);
Rabeya Khan 3/16 (4), Sultana Khatun 2/17 (4)

Bangladesh Women need 103 runs to win.
