Former Indian cricketer, Yuvraj Singh, played a pivotal role in India's historic victory against England in the Natwest Series in 2002. Facing a challenging situation, Yuvraj and Mohammad Kaif joined forces to rescue the Indian team and achieve an unlikely victory on English soil.

Yuvraj's knock was vital in India's famous win in England

Recently, a video from last year featuring Yuvraj has been circulating on the internet. He had shared the clip to commemorate the two-decade anniversary of the remarkable win.

In the video, Yuvraj can be seen engaging in a candid conversation with his then-teammate, Mohammad Kaif. With an air of nostalgia, the southpaw admitted that he had feared a loss after Sachin Tendulkar was dismissed. In response, Kaif revealed that he had reassured Yuvraj, asserting, "As long as you're at the crease, there's hope."

Meanwhile, on the 21st anniversary of the Natwest Series victory, Yuvraj once again took to Twotter to recall the significant occasion. In an emotional Instagram post, the former all-rounder paid homage to the day when India made history at the Lord's, causing the Indian tricolour to flutter with pride.

"#Throwback to this memorable day when we ensured our tricolour flies high with pride 🇮🇳 This encounter should have been called NaTEST instead of Natwest coz it “tested” us at so many levels! The victory won’t have been possible without the efforts of all teammates, especially @MohammadKaif," wrote Yuvraj.

Coming to the game, India had the difficult task of chasing down a target of 326 runs. However, a mid-order breakdown left the team in a vulnerable position. It was at this crucial juncture that young guns, Yuvraj and Kaif, stepped up, putting together a lightning-quick partnership of 121 runs in merely 106 balls.

The left-hander played a pivotal role in steering the team out of troubled waters with his outstanding innings of 69 runs off just 63 balls. Following his dismissal in the 42nd over, Kaif masterfully collaborated with the lower order, adding 59 crucial runs. The outstanding team effort culminated in a thrilling victory for India with just 3 balls and 2 wickets to spare.
