India Women and hosts Bangladesh are set to go up against each other in the second T20I of their three-match series on July 11. Team India is currently on a six-match trip to Bangladesh, as part of their preparation for the upcoming Asian Games 2023 in China.

Bangladesh Women’s torrid run in T20Is this year continued with another defeat in their series opener against India. Up against a strong bowling line-up of the visitors, they managed just 114 upfront, a total easily overhauled by the ‘Women in Blue’ later.
Bangladesh, in their eight T20I matches this year, have registered just one win so far. They spent the entire T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa without a win, and lost a subsequent three-match series in Sri Lanka despite having taken a lead at one stage.
Led by Nigar Sultana, they are currently placed at number nine on the ICC team rankings in women’s T20Is.
India Women
India Women, under Harmanpreet Kaur’s leadership, took home the opening advantage of the series by winning the first T20I with ease. They chased down a modest total laid down by the hosts with seven wickets and nearly four overs to spare.
Interestingly, the Indian team also emerged victorious the last time they landed in Bangladesh for a T20I assignment. They won the 2022 Asia Cup by defeating Sri Lanka in the final, after having thumped hosts in the initial stage of the tournament.
The ongoing series is Team India’s first set of T20I fixtures since their semi-final defeat to Australia at the T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa earlier this year.
