After a long wait, the toss is finally underway at the Multan Cricket Ground. In the opening Test between Pakistan and the West Indies, Pakistan captain Shan Masood won the toss and chose to bat first.
Earlier in the day, the toss was delayed due to heavy fog, causing it to take place at 1:30 PM IST. Meanwhile, Pakistan handed a debut to Mohammad Huraira, replacing the injured Saim Ayub, while the West Indies included middle-order batter Tevin Imlach in their lineup.
PAK Vs WI 1st Test: Captain's Thoughts
Kraigg Brathwaite (West Indies Captain): "We have a good opportunity now. We would have wanted to bat first as well. It looks very dry. If we have a good day today, we have a chance. We want to be as brave as we can. Bowling wise, we want to be as disciplined as possible and bowl to our field. Bowl a lot of dot balls. Lets see how it goes. Well from our 12, we have left out Amir Jangoo."
Shan Masood (Pakistan Captain): "We are going to bat first. Looking at conditions in mind. We want to put a good first innings upfront and then make it tough in the 4th innings. We have to look at our home conditions and think of ways where we can become a tough team to beat. We look at different opppositions and get a variety of tracks readily available for us which unfortunately is not the case at the moment.
