After suffering a crushing defeat in the first ODI at the hands of Australia, the focus now shifts towards the second game of the series in Adelaide. There was hype surrounding the return of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma after an eight-month absence, but the duo failed as India faltered and lost a one-sided contest.

The batters failed to deliver the goods and the bowlers failed to defend 131 as Australia cruised to an easy win. Trailing in the series, India cannot afford to lose the second ODI and ahead of the contest we look at what transpired at the toss.

Who won the toss today in IND vs AUS 2nd ODI?

Australia won the toss and Mitch Marsh had no hesitation in electing to bowl first on a surface that has something for the pacers in the early going. For the Aussies, Alex Carey is back in the side in place of Josh Philippe, and Xavier Bartlett comes in for Nathan Ellis.

India on the other hand, have gone in unchanged as they aim to bounce back from the drubbing in Perth.

IND Vs AUS playing XIs

India Playing XI: Shubman Gill (c), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer (vc), KL Rahul (wk), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh

Australia Playing XI: Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh (c), Matthew Short, Matt Renshaw, Alex Carey (wk), Cooper Connolly, Mitchell Owen, Xavier Bartlett, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood

Who holds the advantage after toss

The surface has a bit of moisture and that’s the reason Mitch Marsh elected to bowl first. The Aussies have a terrific new-ball attack, whereas India has been vulnerable at the top. Mitch Starc and Josh Hazlewood will try to utilise the new-ball conditions, and the home side holds a slight advantage, unless India stages a formidable opening partnership.
