To bring delight to Australian fans, Travis Head has been included in the Kangaroos’ playing XI against Australia on Saturday (October 28) in Match 27 of the World Cup 2023 at HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala. Head is set to replace Cameron Green, while Marnus Labuschagne is thought to be Australia’s new No. 5.

New Zealand have also made a change in their lineup, with Jimmy Neesham coming in place of Mark Chapman, who sustained a calf niggle.

Meanwhile, New Zealand won the toss, and as it happened in the previous five ODIs here at this venue, opted to field first.

Having won thrice in five attempts in the ongoing competition, Australia are placed fourth on the points table. New Zealand, on the other hand, are stationed just above them, having won four out of their five matches.

AUS vs NZ: Captains’ Thoughts

Tom Latham

"We are going to bowl. Early start, a reasonable surface early; there may be something early with the new ball because of a day game. Jimmy Neesham is in for Mark Chapman, who has a calf niggle. Adapting quickly to what is in front of us will be key."

Pat Cummins

"Looks like a good wicket, there might be something in it early. Travis Head comes in for Cam Green. They are a team we know really well, but they know us really well too. Excited to get going. Try and set up a big score."
