Sarfaraz Khan started off his Test career with twin fifties in the Rajkot Test against England and followed it up another fifty in his third Test. However, he could not make it to the XI in the series against Bangladesh with team management preferring KL Rahul over him. The Mumbai batter though got his chance in the opening Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru and smashed a brilliant 150 which helped him retain his place and KL Rahul was left out from the squad.

In the first innings of the third Test at Wankhede, Sarfaraz bagged a four-ball duck and his failure this time has not gone well with some fans on social media. People on social media platform X are calling Sarfaraz a over-hyped PR-backed cricketer and the focus is on his third duck in 10 innings.

Some are also suggesting that KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer get unnecessary hate after their failures, unlike Sarfaraz Khan. The majority of comparisons are with KL Rahul and how Sarfaraz is not as good as KL Rahul. Sarfaraz Khan was long ignored by selectors despite his consistent performances at the domestic level, but after his failure now, some netizens are justifying his long wait for the Indian camp.







It would be interesting to see who will be preferred in Australia for the opening Test with some people backing KL Rahul given his experience in those conditions.
