Ashes 2023 | David Warner Retains His Place As Australia Announce Playing XI For Manchester Test

Australia announced their playing XI for the upcoming Test, starting tomorrow at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester.

Going with an all-pace attack, Australia have included Josh Hazlewood and Cameron Green. Todd Murphy and Scott Boland have made way for the duo.

While Hazlewood was rested for the Headingley Test, a hamstring strain had kept Green out of the XI. As Green's replacement for the fixture, Mitchell Marsh, scored the only century of the match, it was all but certain that he was not going anywhere.

To bring Green back in the XI, Australia had to do away with Murphy, who too came as a replacement for Nathan Lyon.

Interestingly, the Pat Cummins-led side will now field with five pacers as they have chosen to not pick a frontline spinner for the Manchester clash.

In a positive news for David Warner, he continues to find a place in the XI despite becoming a usual victim of Stuart Broad. There was a possibility of going in with one of Marcus Harris and Matt Renshaw but Australia seems to have given Warner another chance to redeem himself.

2-1 up in series, Australia will look to close down Ashes 2023 at the Old Trafford itself.
