After completing his four over spell in the crucial game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Chennai Super Kings' spinner Maheesh Theekshana has been substituted for rest of the match in favour of batter Ambati Rayudu.

Theekshana bowled his four overs for 37 runs where he bagged two crucial wickets of Manan Vohra and Krunal Pandya on two successive deliveries in the sixth over.

Rayudu has been used as an impact player in this season for almost every game where he previously replaced Akash Singh and Tushar Deshpande.

Moreover, Theekshana has featured in seven matches so far with seven wickets while bowling at an economy of over 8.5.

On the other hand, Rayudu has only been able to manage 83 runs with the bat in seven innings where he averages just 16.

Talking about the game, LSG were in trouble as inside the first 10 overs, they were 44 for five down but a resurgent innings from Ayush Badoni helped them to get to 125 by the end of 19.2 overs before rain poured in.

The impact sub was called in at 17.4 overs and it was right after Nicholas Pooran lost his wicket to Matheesha Pathirana.
